Weight Management
Obesity is excess body fat that affects health. It contributes to diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver, joint disease, sleep apnoea and PCOS, and modest sustained loss improves all of them.

Understanding weight management
What it is, and what we look at
Obesity is influenced by genetics, hormones, sleep, medication, mental health and environment, not by willpower alone. For South Asians the thresholds are lower than international ones — a BMI at or above 25 is considered obese, and waist circumference above 90 cm in men and 80 cm in women indicates central obesity, which carries the metabolic risk. Many people with a normal BMI still carry harmful abdominal fat.
The encouraging point is that outcomes improve well before an ideal weight is reached: a sustained loss of 5 to 10 percent of body weight measurably improves blood glucose, blood pressure, liver fat and PCOS symptoms. That is the realistic target set here. Thyroid disease, PCOS, sleep apnoea and weight-gaining medications are screened for first.
Symptoms
You may recognise these
Causes & triggers
What tends to be behind it
- Sustained energy intake exceeding expenditure
- Genetic and familial predisposition
- Hypothyroidism, PCOS and Cushing's syndrome
- Medications including steroids, some antidepressants and antipsychotics
- Insufficient sleep, chronic stress and sedentary work
When to see a doctor promptly
Homeopathic treatment is not the right first step for these. Seek medical assessment if:
- Weight gain is rapid and unexplained, particularly with swelling
- There is loud snoring with breathing pauses and daytime sleepiness
- There is breathlessness at rest, or chest pain on exertion
How we work
Our approach at the clinic
Individualised prescribing
Homeopathy selects a remedy for the person, not only the diagnosis. Two patients with the same condition often receive different remedies.
Detailed case taking
Your first visit covers medical history, family history, current medication, diet, sleep and stress — all of it informs the prescription.
Works alongside your doctor
We never ask you to stop prescribed medication on your own. Any change is made gradually and in consultation with your treating physician.

Common questions
Asked before the first visit
Less than most people assume. A sustained 5 to 10 percent reduction improves blood glucose, blood pressure, liver fat, sleep apnoea and PCOS symptoms measurably. Setting that as the first target is more achievable, and more sustainable, than aiming for an ideal weight.

Talk to a doctor about your case
Bring your reports and current prescriptions. The first consultation is a full case assessment, and you will be told plainly if another specialist is the better route.
