Understanding diabetes support

What it is, and what we look at

Type 2 diabetes develops gradually and often has no symptoms in its early years, which is why it is frequently found on a routine test. Sustained high blood glucose damages small and large blood vessels over time, affecting the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart and feet. Regular monitoring of HbA1c, kidney function, eyes and feet is what prevents most of these complications.

Homeopathic care here is strictly supportive. It does not replace metformin, insulin or any prescribed antidiabetic medication, and glucose should continue to be monitored as advised. What supportive treatment can help with is general wellbeing, and the associated concerns patients often raise — fatigue, recurrent infections, slow-healing skin problems and neuropathic discomfort — alongside diet and activity guidance.

Symptoms

You may recognise these

Increased thirst and frequent urination
Excessive hunger and unintended weight loss
Fatigue and low energy
Blurred vision
Slow-healing cuts and recurrent skin or urinary infections
Tingling or numbness in the feet

Causes & triggers

What tends to be behind it

  • Insulin resistance, driven largely by abdominal fat
  • Strong genetic and family predisposition — particularly in South Asians
  • Physical inactivity and sedentary work
  • Diet high in refined carbohydrates and sugar
  • Age, and previous gestational diabetes

When to see a doctor promptly

Homeopathic treatment is not the right first step for these. Seek medical assessment if:

  • Blood glucose is very high with vomiting, drowsiness or rapid breathing — seek emergency care
  • There is a foot ulcer, or any wound on the foot that is not healing
  • There is sudden vision change, or symptoms of very low blood sugar

How we work

Our approach at the clinic

Individualised prescribing

Homeopathy selects a remedy for the person, not only the diagnosis. Two patients with the same condition often receive different remedies.

Detailed case taking

Your first visit covers medical history, family history, current medication, diet, sleep and stress — all of it informs the prescription.

Works alongside your doctor

We never ask you to stop prescribed medication on your own. Any change is made gradually and in consultation with your treating physician.

Common questions

Asked before the first visit

No, and this needs to be unambiguous. Stopping prescribed antidiabetic medication risks uncontrolled glucose and serious complications. Homeopathic treatment here runs alongside, and any medication change is made by your treating physician based on your readings.

Talk to a doctor about your case

Bring your reports and current prescriptions. The first consultation is a full case assessment, and you will be told plainly if another specialist is the better route.
