Understanding autism spectrum support

What it is, and what we look at

Autism is a neurodevelopmental difference affecting communication, social interaction and patterns of behaviour and interest. Its presentation varies enormously between children. The interventions with established evidence are early, intensive and developmental: speech and language therapy, occupational therapy including sensory integration, and structured behavioural programmes. Early intervention has the strongest effect on long-term outcomes.

This must be stated plainly: homeopathy does not cure autism, and any claim to reverse it should be treated with caution. What can be offered here is supportive care for coexisting difficulties that often affect a child's daily life — disturbed sleep, digestive problems, recurrent infections, anxiety and eating difficulties — while the therapy programme continues.

Symptoms

You may recognise these

Delayed speech or loss of previously acquired words
Limited eye contact and reduced response to name
Repetitive movements or strong routines
Intense, narrow interests
Sensory sensitivity to sound, texture or light
Difficulty with social interaction and play with peers

Causes & triggers

What tends to be behind it

  • Strong genetic contribution, with many genes implicated
  • Differences in early brain development
  • Advanced parental age and certain prenatal factors
  • Prematurity and very low birth weight
  • Not caused by vaccines — this has been examined extensively and disproved

When to see a doctor promptly

Homeopathic treatment is not the right first step for these. Seek medical assessment if:

  • There is loss of speech or social skills at any age — seek assessment promptly
  • No babbling by 12 months, no single words by 16 months, or no two-word phrases by 24 months
  • There are seizures, or a marked change in behaviour or sleep

How we work

Our approach at the clinic

Individualised prescribing

Homeopathy selects a remedy for the person, not only the diagnosis. Two patients with the same condition often receive different remedies.

Detailed case taking

Your first visit covers medical history, family history, current medication, diet, sleep and stress — all of it informs the prescription.

Works alongside your doctor

We never ask you to stop prescribed medication on your own. Any change is made gradually and in consultation with your treating physician.

Common questions

Asked before the first visit

No. Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental difference, and no medicine of any system reverses it. Anyone promising a cure is not being straight with you. What treatment here addresses is the associated problems — sleep, digestion, recurrent infection, anxiety — alongside the therapies that do change outcomes.

Talk to a doctor about your case

Bring your reports and current prescriptions. The first consultation is a full case assessment, and you will be told plainly if another specialist is the better route.

This page is general health information, not a diagnosis or a treatment guarantee. Homeopathy is a complementary system of medicine and results vary from person to person. Do not stop or change any prescribed medication without speaking to the doctor who prescribed it. In an emergency, contact a hospital immediately.
