Joint Pain treatment
Joint pain has many causes, and telling inflammatory pain from mechanical pain is the first and most useful step — the two are treated very differently.

Understanding joint pain
What it is, and what we look at
The most useful distinction in joint pain is inflammatory versus mechanical. Inflammatory pain — as in rheumatoid arthritis, gout or psoriatic arthritis — is worse after rest, comes with morning stiffness lasting over an hour, and improves with movement, often with visible swelling. Mechanical pain, as in osteoarthritis or injury, worsens with use, improves with rest, and has brief morning stiffness.
That distinction shapes everything that follows, because inflammatory arthritis needs early specialist treatment to prevent permanent joint damage, while mechanical pain responds to strengthening, weight management and load modification. Case taking establishes which pattern you have, which joints are involved and whether the pattern is symmetrical, before anything is prescribed.
Symptoms
You may recognise these
Causes & triggers
What tends to be behind it
- Osteoarthritis and age-related joint wear
- Inflammatory arthritis — rheumatoid, psoriatic or gout
- Injury, overuse and repetitive strain
- Vitamin D deficiency and hypothyroidism
- Infection in a joint, and rarely referred pain from elsewhere
When to see a doctor promptly
Homeopathic treatment is not the right first step for these. Seek medical assessment if:
- A single joint is hot, red and swollen with fever — this needs same-day assessment
- Joint swelling with morning stiffness lasts beyond six weeks
- There is unexplained weight loss, rash or persistent fever with the joint pain
How we work
Our approach at the clinic
Individualised prescribing
Homeopathy selects a remedy for the person, not only the diagnosis. Two patients with the same condition often receive different remedies.
Detailed case taking
Your first visit covers medical history, family history, current medication, diet, sleep and stress — all of it informs the prescription.
Works alongside your doctor
We never ask you to stop prescribed medication on your own. Any change is made gradually and in consultation with your treating physician.

Common questions
Asked before the first visit
Stiffness is the clue. Inflammatory joint pain gives more than an hour of morning stiffness that eases as you move, with swelling. Mechanical pain gives brief stiffness that worsens through the day with use. Getting this right early matters, because inflammatory arthritis causes permanent damage if left untreated.

Talk to a doctor about your case
Bring your reports and current prescriptions. The first consultation is a full case assessment, and you will be told plainly if another specialist is the better route.
